Bonnie McKnight was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and went to high school in Las Vegas, Nevada. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and History. She went on to earn her Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, graduating cum laude.
During Bonnie’s time at California Western, she had the honor of working as a clinical student with the California Innocence Project, a clinical program dedicated to releasing wrongfully convicted inmates. Additionally, Bonnie was also a member of the California Western Law Review, where her comment “Drone Technology and the Fourth Amendment: Aerial Surveillance Precedent and Kyllo Do Not Account For Current Technology and Privacy Concerns” was published. She also gained experience working as a judicial extern with the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.
In 2016, Bonnie joined Hyde & Swigart as an associate. Her practice primarily consists of consumer class actions and individual mass torts, where she advocates on behalf of consumers who have been wronged by large corporations.
Bonnie is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys walking her dogs at dog beach, paddle boarding, and cooking.
