[California Consumers Are Now Applying for a 100% Free and Discreet Claim Evaluation – Attorney Promotion Per Rule 7.1]
Thousands of California Consumers who ordered food for delivery using Postmates may finally receive cash refunds, but sadly, most of them are unaware of how fast and easy it is to apply.
Postmates is inconsistent and misleading in how they portray their service fee. On their website they claim Postmates uses the service fee for operating costs, but they tell consumers directly that it is a fee charged by non-partner merchants. Moreover, the initial, advertised price of items does not include the service fee (which can be as much as 20.99% of the order price).
These tactics are used by Postmates to deceive its customers and disassociate itself from the fees being charged so that Postmates can appear to set low fees. In reality Postmates has the highest Service Fee among similar food delivery services.
Such conduct is misleading, absolutely unacceptable, and also violates California Laws.
QUICK VERSION: If you ordered food for delivery using Postmates, you may qualify for a cash refund of your fees with interest. Applying for a claim evaluation is free, confidential, and takes less than 60 seconds.
Postmates delivers food and other items from stores that are classified as either a partner or non-partner merchant. A non-partner merchant is a “out-of-network” establishment that does not pay Postmates a commission for all sales that it makes through Postmates, like a partner merchant
For these non-partner merchants, Postmates charges a service fee. Postmates describes the fee on its own website as being a helpful way to, “pay for your Postmate’s time and keep our whole operation running smoothly.”
However when consumers ask Postmates why they received a high (almost 20%) service charge, Postmates state that merchants may have a high service because they are not one of our Partner merchants. Postmates also reassures customers that “you will only ever pay what the merchant charges you . . . we never mark up our prices.”
Essentially, Postmates is having the consumer pay the commission that Postmates is not receiving since a non-partner merchant is being used. In order to hide this fact, Postmates is inconsistent and misleading on the advertised price of the food order, who is charging this fee, and why this service fee is charged. In the most egregious cases, Postmates fails to give the consumer any forewarning of what the fees will be.
In one particularly atrocious story, a consumer was given no estimate besides “TBD.” Believing his order was going to be $70ish dollars based on the menu prices listed in the app, he placed the order. However, to his dismay, upon arrival the total ended up being $115.
Lately, many consumers came forward and said “Enough is Enough.”
Some Consumers Are Worried That Applying For Cash Refunds Will Require Out-Of-Pocket Expenses
Sadly, some consumers that had to pay misleading fees to Postmates won’t come forward with their claims because they are concerned about incurring out-of-pocket expenses when they apply for this service. This is not only wrong, but it’s in fact, quite the opposite.
Applying for a claim evaluation free, confidential, and there is absolutely no cost.
Maybe What Happened To Me Wasn’t That Big Of A Deal
Many consumers will downplay what happened to them and will try to push it to the back of their mind. Not only is it a substantial violation of their rights, but consumers’ inaction is the very reason why companies like Postmates can get away with cheating their customers. What is the most surprising, is that most of Postmates’ customers simply do not know how much cash refunds may be owed to them! And the amounts, oftentimes, may be more substantial than expected.
No matter how minor violations may seem to you, the company may still be obligated by law to pay you.
The time to request cash compensation is limited by statute. So, Don’t Miss Your Window Of Opportunity – take one step closer to protecting your rights and holding Postmates accountable…. Click >>HERE<< or Below to Receive a 100% Free and Confidential Claim Evaluation.
